Nel caso dell'Università di Padova non si è trattato solo di scrivere nuove voci, ma anche di creare corsi di formazione aperti a tutti (i MOOC) e di ripensare il modo in cui si può accedere al patrimonio culturale dell'Ateneo. The GLAM-Wiki Revolution is a short documentary about the GLAM programme in the United Kingdom. The GLAM programme is a series of partnerships between Wikimedia UK, a charity which supports Wikipedia and its editors in the UK, and cultural institutions, known collectively as GLAMs (an acronym for Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums). Many choose to play host to a Wikimedian-in-Residence, who acts as a liaison between the institution and the Wikimedia community and works to open up the resources held by the institution through Wikipedia and its sister projects. This documentary gives an overview of the GLAM project in the UK by visiting Wikimedians-in-Residence around the country to learn more about the projects they have run and their experiences in the role. Wikimedia and GLAM in the Global South (Part 1): Heritage, Wikimedia and GLAM in the Global South (Part 2): Libraries and Excellence Seeking
This workshop will address how the United Nations's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can serve as a framework that helps maximize the social impact of Wikimedia activities. The two are already very much aligned, but there are benefits in making the alignment more explicit, e.g. by prioritizing the creation and curation of Wikimedia content related to the SDGs. In this workshop, we invite participants to look at some past, present or future Wikimedia activities and explore what could change if they were framed around the SDGs, using examples of activities undertaken under the umbrella of the Wikimedians for Sustainable Development initiative. The goal is to re-assess how the reframing of these activities might affect their social impact.
